Rise of Nightmares: Welcome to The Nightmare Trailer

Welcome to the Nightmare...

Rise of Nightmares. Sega's 360 Kinect Zombie Slasher.

Check out this trailer for Sega's up and coming hand to hand zombie-fest for Xbox 360 connect.

Clockwork clowns and a zombie horde
Lucky for us, just as we hoped, it's pretty much mostly all about the zombie-slaying. As the trailer reveals the game features a murderous madman, a horde of zombies, clockwork clowns, brain worms and copious buckets of blood.

Rise of Nightmares - Scary?
Still not sure if it'll actually be scary, after all, it's on Kinect, but as the trailer suggests, we think Sega's Rise of Nightmares is certainly aimed at a little more mature audience than Kinectimals.

Rise of Nightmares: Live Action Trailer

We've recently seen a little zombie smashing game play footage from Sega's survival horror experience for Kinect Rise of Nightmares. The innovative game plays off the increasing popularity of twisted genius survival horror movies such as Hostel and Saw. But we're most excited about...the zombies.

We wouldn't be surprised if the release of this game results in an increase of spilled drinks and broken ornaments as players flee from their screens in terror in the middle of the night.

Clear a space and don't forget to tell someone where you are!

Rise of Nightmares - Zombie Fight!!!

Punch, kick, it's all in the mind! Or...with your hands and feet in Rise of Nightmares, the Survival Horror melee-fest for Kinect from Sega.
Rise of Nightmares.
Check out this over the shoulder sneak peek from E3.

The Rise of Nightmares Stance
What at first seem slightly awkward controls soon become natural and, before you know it, you're sucked into a nightmare realist that will see you slashing, bashing, kicking and smashing your way through the hordes of beasties that await.

And, it's not just your hands and feet you get to use. Whilst it looks at first to be on rails, a subtle twist of the shoulders and the camera tilts, put one foot in front of the other and you stride forward, put your foot out more, you speed up. Not as refined, but this works more like a first person shooter.

Tooling up
The E3 demo allowed players access to a small sampling of the weapons available including: explosive vials, brass knuckles, tongs and a chainsaw.

We're certainly looking forward to seeing a little more in-depth game play from this truly unique offering. And to finding out if the opponents are pretty much mostly zombies, and seeing as most of the characters look like they've been pilfered from Sega's highly successful House of The Dead series, we're hopeful.
