Zombies in Yorkshire

Walkers in the Yorkshire Dales may come across a terrifying sight this week if they stumble on to the set of a new zombie movie.

Before Dawn - Buckets of fake gore are promised.
Before Dawn, a film about a couple who go away for a weekend and come under attack from zombies, is being shot in the picturesque area this week.

The film, which promises "buckets of fake gore", is being directed by Emmerdale star Dominic Brunt.

Memorial Day Zombie Attack!!!!

Zombies Attacked Williamsburg Yesterday!!!!

Focus on the brains...the brains I tell you!!!
Williamsburg's weather was yesterday perfect... for eating brains!!! At the 4th Annual NYC Zombie Crawl.
Blood drenched-goodness. Photo by tud5000
As the Memorial Day Eve sun drifted down over Williamsburg the undead took to the streets to groan unintelligibly, laugh maniacally, enjoy zombie-themed drink specials, play reindeer zombie games in McCarren Park, shoot a scene for Punk Rock Holocaust 3 and scare the bejesus out of passersby. All-in-all a nice way to spend a Sunday evening!
Has anyone seen my pen?

The Walking Dead Board Game - September 2011

Whilst fans eagerly await the return of a second season Cryptozoic Entertainment, the name behind the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game, have scheduled the release of The Walking Dead Board Game for this September.

Artwork and production as you'd expect from Cryptozoic

Cryptozoic puts you right in the middle of the action!

Players will play as major characters from the show and other supporting characters will pop up from time to time to help you.

Visit familiar locations such as the hospital, Rick’s Police Station, the old folks home, and Center for Disease Control.

To win the game very player needs to navigate the board and collect resources to make you better at killing zombies and eventually get you to safety. (For now!)

Along the way you have to defend yourself, manage a dwindling supply of resources, and choose whether or not to help your fellow players too.

You may be asking, why help my fellow players – I want to win!

There’s a catch – when players die they come back as zombies!

"Hey Bob. It's Tom"

So more than likely, those particular zombies may be a little irritated that their former human friends didn’t help them out! Not only are they mad but they are hungry!

The fight for your life begins this September when Cryptozoic release the board game worldwide. They will also be previewing it with demos at Gen Con this August.

Whether it's a game for gamers or turns out to be the Monopoly of zombie games remains to be seen. Either way we'll be sure to let you know once the Gen Con feedback comes in.

Alicia Vikander to be cast in World War Z?

Bloody Disgusting was recently informed that Paramount Pictures is hoping to cast award winning acress Alicia Vikander in the much touted big-screen adaptation of Max Brooks' bestseller World War Z: An Oral History of The Zombie War. While there are aparently no offers on the table, she would be cast in the role of "Segen" if they get their way.

Alicia Vikander - European Films' Shooting Star

If all goes to plan, Alicia would feature alongside Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos and Anthony Mackie in the movie adaptation, directed by Marc Forster of Quantum of Solace fame.

Based on the best-selling novel by Max Brooks, " 'World War Z' follows United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt) as he tries to stop a global Zombie pandemic. With armies crumbling and governments rendered useless, Gerry must head out into a hellish and gruesome new world to find allies in his cause. In each country he visits, he learns new information about the origin and habits of the Zombies (or Zs as they're now called) and begins to build a plan to destroy them. Throughout his odyssey, Gerry longs to be reunited with his wife and children. But there's something he has to do first... Save the human race."

Dead Island - GamePlay Footage

After a number of 'gameplay' videos with little or no gameplay here is a fabulously in-depth look into Silver's eagerly anticipated first person shooter scheduled for release later this year - and this time there really is gameplay footage.

You'll take someone's eye out with that!

Dead Island is almost guaranteed to be a hit with players of franchises such as: Left 4 Dead, Dead Rising and Call of Duty: Zombies.

We'll certainly be playing it. In fact, we'll probably be calling in sick to play through the four player co-op as soon as it is released.

Batter up!

The World of The Dead: The Zombie Diaries 2

'Marmite' Zombie flick 'The Zombie Diaries' gets a DVD sequel.

The World of The Dead: The Zombie Diaries 2 comes to DVD on 27th June 2011

Marmite?
Why was the orginal 'The Zombie Diaries' such a love or hate movie?

It was well executed, with a strong script, had great acting and solid zombie effects? It tiptoed a line every other zombie movie travelled - if you think the zombies are a threat - what till you see what the apocalypse brings out in the survivors. It's only downlfall was, it perhaps went a little too far. A great movie, it just left many viewers feeling a little bit uneasy.

High Hopes for The Zombie Diaries 2
Let's hope the sequel rings a sweeter chord with zombiephiles and leaves us worrying a little more about zombies and a little less about how many bad people there might be out there in the big bad world.

When government agencies start publishing advice about Zombies we think it is worth paying attention.
This is a genuine advertisement.
